METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING OAM PACKET

Disclosed is a method for transmitting an OAM packet, used for proving a method for implementing client layer OAM for a server layer in a dual-homing scenario. The method comprises: an MEP in a virtual home MEP determining whether the MEP is a master node; when determining that the MEP is a master node, the MEP generating a first OAM packet and sending the first OAM packet to a receive end; and when determining that the MEP is not a master node, the MEP forbidding generation of the first OAM packet, the virtual home MEP comprising at least two MEPs, and attribute parameters of the MEPs being the same. Further disclosed is an apparatus for transmitting an OAM packet.
