A rechargeable battery according to one aspect of the present invention includes an electrode assembly which includes a first electrode and a second electrode, a case in which the electrode assembly is embedded, a cap plate which is combined with the case and includes a short hole, a first terminal which is electrically connected to the first electrode, a second terminal which is electrically connected to the second electrode, a top insulation member which is arranged between the second terminal and the cap plate and includes a connection hole connected to the short hole and a vent hole which is separated from the connection hole, and a short member which is installed between the cap plate and the top insulation member in the short hole and electrically connects a negative electrode to a positive electrode by deformation. |
