The invention relates to a device and a method for detecting a state of an electric device. A magnetic field is detected along an electric feed line of the electric device, the electric device being supplied with energy via said feed line, by means of a magnetic field sensor, and the magnetic field which is thus detected is compared with previously determined reference values in order to determine the operating state of the electric device. The determination of the reference values can be individually adapted to the electric device to be monitored in a calibration process carried out in advance. |
