The present invention relates to a door opening system and a method thereof and, specifically, to a door opening system and a method thereof using a near field communication (NFC) to open a door by: authenticating that a mobile terminal of a user is registered by using an NFC technology; wirelessly transmitting a random number to the mobile terminal of the user if the mobile terminal is registered; wirelessly receiving a corresponding motion image; and determining whether a correspondence between the random number and the motion image is correct or not by extracting a number. For the aforementioned, the door opening system includes: at least one preregistered user mobile terminal; an authentication device which generates a random number and wirelessly transmits the random number to the user mobile terminal if the user mobile terminal enters a preset area and authenticates NFC information; and a manager terminal which wirelessly receives information of the authentication result of the authentication device and remotely controls the authentication device.
