<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device enabled to feed sufficient water to the mouth paste of a mailing envelope by a simple constitution.SOLUTION: A sealing device comprises: an envelope placing platform 7 for placing an envelope 20 having a flap part 20a and a bag part 20b; a moving mechanism 3 for moving the envelope placing platform 7 placing the envelope 20, along the longitudinal direction of the flap part 20a; a water supply part 8 for supplying water to a mouth paste 20c during the movement of the envelope placing platform 7; a flap part folding guide 5 for folding the flap part 20a fed at the mouth paste 20c with the water, to the side of the bag part 20b; and a pressing member 6 for pressing the flap part 20a folded by the flap part folding guide 5, to the side of the bag part 20b thereby to seal the mailing envelope 20. The water supply part 8 includes: a driven mechanism 11 adapted to be driven in response to the movement of the envelope placing platform 7; a water reservoir 10 reserving the water; and a water coating member 12k dipped at least partially in the water of the water reservoir 10 so that the portion dipped in the water is moved by the drive mechanism 11 thereby to coat the mouth paste 20c with water.</p> |
