This fuel cell system for supplying an anode gas and a cathode gas to a fuel cell and causing the fuel cell to generate power according to a load includes a container section for storing impurities discharged by the fuel cell. The fuel cell system also includes a pressure control unit for increasing the pressure of the anode gas when the current of the fuel cell is high, in comparison to when the current thereof is low. The fuel cell system amplifies the current of the fuel cell, and further includes an estimation unit for estimating the current/voltage properties of the fuel cell on the basis of the current and voltage values obtained during said amplification, and a restriction unit for restricting a reduction in the pressure of the anode gas when the estimation unit is estimating the current-voltage properties. |
