<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a useful raw material for enzymatic saccharification capable of improving the production efficiency of sugar and used in a method of producing sugar, a method of producing sugar, and a method of producing ethanol. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing a raw material for enzymatic saccharification includes an ammonia treatment process for breaking at least a part of ester bonds in a biomass raw material containing lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose by ammonia, and a wet grinding process for wet grinding the treated biomass. The dry mass of the biomass (A) and the mass of water (B) in the ammonia treatment process satisfy the relationship of following equation (1), äB/(A+B)}×100≤30 (1), and the breakage of the ester bonds is performed until the residual ratio of the ester bonds, obtained by following equation (2), achieve 90% or less. The residual ratio of the ester bonds (%)=(the ester bond peak of the ammonia-treated biomass/the ester bond peak of the biomass raw material)×100 (2). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
