PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect deposition of water on an electrode in a particulate-matter processing device that has an electrode, which is provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and whose applied voltage can be changed, and is configured to aggregate particulate matter in exhaust gas by allowing a current to flow between the electrode and the exhaust passage by the applied voltage.
SOLUTION: The particulate-matter processing device includes: a detecting device for detecting a current, flowing in an electrode, by an applied voltage; a first detecting means for detecting the current during the stop when a voltage is applied to the electrode in a state that an internal combustion engine is stopped via the detecting device; a second detecting means for detecting the current during the start-up when a voltage is applied to the electrode at the start-up of the internal combustion engine via the detecting device; and a determination means for determining deposition of water on the electrode on the basis of the excessive degree of the current during the start-up detected by the second detecting means with respect to the current during the stop detected by the first detecting means.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
|
