1. A data access system, the system comprising:
a head including a first read sensor, a second read sensor and a third read sensor, a read processing circuit including:
a first combining circuit operable to generate a first unified data set based upon information received from the first read sensor and information received from the second read sensor;a second combining circuit operable to generate a second unified data set based upon information received from the second read sensor and information received from the third read sensor; anda merging circuit operable to assemble a first portion of a codeword derived from the first unified data set with a second portion of the same codeword derived from the first unified data set to yield a processing codeword.
