PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor in which a contact area of a heater with the inner circumferential wall of a solid electrolyte is increased for early activation, and in which the solid electrolyte is suppressed from being easily cracked upon wetting with water, for increased reliability.SOLUTION: The gas sensor comprises a heater 5 for heating a gas sensor element 4, a terminal metal fixture 1 having a heater holding unit 10 for holding the heater 5 in the inside of the gas sensor element 4, and a cylindrical housing 6 for fixing a detection unit 40 in a gas to be measured, the heater holding unit 10 being provided with a contact surface 102 for elastically pressing the long-side flat surface of the heater 5 from both sides so that at least a side-face tip on the short side of the heater 5 is made to touch part of the inner circumferential wall of the gas sensor element 4. |
