PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device or the like configured to prevent reduction in performance with respect to multiple read instructions in a row.SOLUTION: A disk device 10 includes: a prefetch operation execution unit 102 which performs data prefetch operation for reading data of a given data size in an address, which has not received a read instruction from a host device, from a medium; an operation parameter storage unit 13 which stores in advance a request data size which is a data size to be requested in one read request from application software which runs on the host device; a prefetch operation control unit 101 which causes the prefetch operation execution unit to prefetch data of the request data size on receipt of read instructions for addresses in a row from the host device, and prevents subsequent data prefetch operations. |
