PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having a high capacity and high rate characteristics.SOLUTION: A positive electrode 10 of a lithium secondary battery includes a collector 100 and a positive electrode mixture 101. The positive electrode mixture 101 contains a first positive electrode active material and a second positive electrode active material having a conductive coating formed thereon, the conductive coating comprising carbon. The ratio of the conductive coating in the second positive electrode active material is 2 mass% or more, the specific surface area of the second positive electrode active material is 1-100 m/g, and the amount of a carbon component in the positive electrode mixture is less than 3 mass%.
