PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-cycle internal combustion engine capable of simplifying a manufacturing method of a cam shaft capable of stopping an operation of a part of cylinders.SOLUTION: In an engine 100 including a plurality of cylinders arranged in series, a cam shaft 3 rotated in conjunction with a crank shaft 70, and a cam carrier 4 rotatable integrally with the cam shaft 3 and axially movable, and including driving cams 41 for driving an intake valve 13 and an exhaust valve 13A, and a stop cam 42 for stopping the intake valve 13, and stopping an operation of a part of the cylinders by moving the cam carrier 4, an operation of only the forth cylinder #4 positioned at an end portion in the cylinder array direction is stoppable, the cam carrier 4 is disposed only on an end portion in the axial direction of the cam shaft 3, and the other driving cams 41-1, 41-2, 41-3 disposed on the cam shaft 3 are integrated with the cam shaft 3. |
