Composite honeycomb structure comprises comprises prismatic segments whose sides are bonded together within the honeycomb structure over their whole length parallel to the direction of flow, giving a composite structure with an overall convex outer cross-section. The outer cross-sections of the segments perpendicular to the direction of flow are quadrilaterals with enclosed angles of 60[deg] and 120[deg] or 60[deg] , 90[deg] and 120[deg] , with deviations of no more than 3[deg] , and the corners of the outer cross-sections are in contact or bonded together at 2-5 points.
