PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a conventional brake lamp control device equipped with a first lighting circuit for lighting a brake lamp according to a driver's brake operation, and a second lighting circuit for lighting a brake lamp at the time of automatic braking, in which for diagnosing a failure of the second lighting circuit, a brake lamp is lit in a state that a driver is not operating a brake pedal.SOLUTION: A brake lamp control device equipped with the first lighting circuit and the second lighting circuit includes switching means for breaking the first lighting circuit while a driver is depressing a brake pedal, and causes the second lighting circuit to be operated. The switching means is caused to be operated while the brake pedal is depressed, and the lighting state of the brake lamp is detected so as to diagnose a failure. |
