Disclosed are an interference control apparatus and an operation method thereof which can adaptively resolve (avoid) an interference situation between a small cell and a macro-cell without a separate link and an exchange of information between a small cell side and a macro-cell side according to whether a terminal exists in a border area and a central area within the small cell and time slots, and at the same time can reduce the power consumption of the small cell. The interference control apparatus comprises: a terminal checking unit for checking whether a terminal exists in a border area and a central area of a particular cell separately; a time slot checking unit for checking a particular time slot; and an interference adjusting unit for adjusting interference between the particular cell and another cell by controlling a base station of the particular cell based on whether a terminal exists in the border area and the central area separately and the particular time slot. |
