The present invention relates to a method for estimating an electronic device location without wireless LAN connection in a network-based location service and an electronic device thereof. The method for estimating an electronic device location comprises the following steps of: determining a location estimation point according to state information on an electronic device; transmitting a location estimation request message to an AP at the determined location estimation point when a wireless LAN is not connected; and receiving the location information of the electronic device from the AP. As a result, the power consumption of an electronic device caused by unnecessary location estimation can be reduced, and inconveniences occurring in the process of accessing a wireless LAN can be resolved. |
