PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a refrigerant circulating state within a cooling apparatus and stabilize cooling function.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a cooling apparatus (a loop heat pipe 2, (44)) for cooling an electric heating element (6) that comprises: an evaporating unit (4, (46)); a condensing unit (10, (48)), a steam pipe (18, (50)) and a liquid pipe (14, (52)). The evaporating unit comprises flowing means (8) for flowing refrigerant (12) so as to absorb heat generated by the electric heating element into inside refrigerant and evaporates it. The condensing unit takes in refrigerant of gaseous phase evaporated at the evaporating unit and liquefies it. The steam pipe flows the refrigerant evaporated at the evaporating unit to the condensing unit and has grooves (20) formed along a pipe inner wall toward the condensing unit to recover the condensation refrigerant and guide it into the condensing unit. The condensing unit is provided with a refrigerant flow passage (grooves 22) of which one end is communicated with the grooves of the steam pipe and the another end is formed at a storage position of liquefied refrigerant storage position so as to guide the condensation refrigerant in the grooves into the refrigerant of liquid phase. |
