PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion work assisting device that surely prevents wrong arrangement.SOLUTION: An insertion work assisting device comprises a first plunger 61, a determination unit and an electrode plate 70. The first plunger 61 moves together with an electric wire 50 with terminal by being pressed by the electric wire 50 with terminal that is arranged and inserted in each cavity 41 of a connector housing 40. The determination unit determines whether the electric wire 50 with terminal is inserted in a correct cavity 41 or a wrong cavity 41. The electrode plate 70 prevents the first plunger 61 from moving and the electric wire 50 with terminal from being inserted when the determination unit determines that the electric wire 50 with terminal is inserted in a wrong cavity 41.
