<p>The present invention is based on the finding that aldosterone antagonist compounds are associated with a lower incidence of cancer. Specifically, in patients prescribed aldosterone antagonists, the incidence of cancer is reduced. For example, in populations or patients undergoing long term aldosterone antagonist based treatment for chronic conditions including cardiovascular and liver disease, the incidence of cancer is lower. As such, the invention provides aldosterone antagonists for cancer treatment, prevention and/or prophylaxis.</p> |
