PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image inspection device, image forming system, and image inspection method with which a printed matter produced by forming, on a sheet having an image printed thereon in advance, a new image on the sheet can be accurately inspected with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An image inspection device includes: a first image acquisition unit that acquires a first image created by reading a sheet having a predetermined image printed thereon in advance; a read image acquisition unit that acquires a read image created by reading a printed matter having a second image newly printed on the sheet; a second image acquisition unit that acquires the second image; a first alignment unit 412 that performs the alignment of the first image and read image; a second alignment unit 424 that performs the alignment of the second image and read image; a composition unit 431 that combines the first image and second image on the basis of a result of the alignment by the first alignment unit and a result of the alignment by the second alignment unit to create a master image; and an inspection unit that compares the read image with the master image to inspect the printed matter. |
