<p> Provided are: a liquid crystal alignment agent having excellent liquid crystal alignment properties and excellent alignment stability, whereby charge accumulation due to asymmetrization of positive and negative voltages during alternating-current driving can be suppressed, and accumulated charge is rapidly relieved; a liquid crystal alignment film; and a liquid crystal display element using the same A liquid crystal alignment agent containing: a polyamic acid obtained by reacting a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride component containing pyromellitic dianhydride, and a diamine component containing a diamine represented by formula (1) and at least one diamine selected from the group consisting of diamines represented by formula (2) and formula (3); and at least one type of polymer selected from the group consisting of imidized polymers of the polyamic acid.
