PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction between a piston and a cylinder bore in an internal combustion engine in which a part of the piston comes out of a bottom edge of the cylinder bore when the piston is in the bottom dead center position.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine according to the invention includes friction reduction means in a piston pin slide part in such an internal combustion engine. A DLC film can be used as the friction reduction means.
