[Also in Division B2] A sheet material comprising a layer of polypropylene and a layer of polyethylene may be produced using apparatus which comprises means 8 for applying a liquid primer to a moving web, a drying chamber 9, a heating chamber 10, a plastics web transverse stretching roller 11, a web coating plastics extrusion device 12 and web cooling means 13, and means for passing a plastics web from the primer applying means through the drying and heating chambers, over the transverse stretching roller, and under the extrusion device to the cooling means, the length of the heating chamber in the direction of web movement being shorter than that of the drying chamber. |
