<p>The present invention provides an apparatus for monitoring surroundings of a vehicle using stored images, capable of reducing errors between an image on a monitor and actual surroundings by correcting a synthetic image to allow features of stored image to correspond to those of a current image. The apparatus for monitoring surroundings of a vehicle using stored images according to the present invention comprises a digital image signal output unit configured to output acquired image information as a digital image signal; a central control unit configured to store, in a first storage unit, a digital image signal in chronological order, and convert an acquired current image into a current top-view image, and extract a region included in a target region to be displayed as a top-view image, from the current top-view image, and determine whether an empty space in the boundary region of the current image and a previous image is present on the target region; and a video encoder configured to convert a digital synthetic image into an analog synthetic image, and output the analog synthetic image.</p> |
