<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an installation operation for an open switch assembly by temporarily holding the open switch assembly even if a vertically openable door such as a tail gate is opened upward before the open switch assembly is fixed to a mounting hole by a fastening means so as to prevent the open switch assembly from falling. <P>SOLUTION: This mounting structure for an open switch assembly includes: a tail gate 12; the open switch assembly 30 attached to s mounting hole 13a formed at the tail gate 12 and including a gate opening switch 31 provided in a storage part 32a and capable of opening the gate by a pressing operation; bolts 37 which lock the open switch assembly 30 from the inside of an outer panel 13; and an elastic contact part 33b which is provided at a bracket 32 and projects from the inner panel 20 side of the tail gate 12 and brought into elastic contact with a member on the inner panel 20 side.
