<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vehicle fire detection device which has improved detection accuracy of smoke due to a vehicle fire in a closed place such as a tunnel and is capable of detecting smoke in a short time after the occurrence of smoke at a reduced calculation cost. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle fire detection device includes: an image capturing unit 1 which captures images for every predetermined period; a vehicle detecting and tracking unit 2 which detects a vehicle from images captured by the image capturing unit 1 and tracks the vehicle to detect a position and speed of the vehicle; an abnormal traveling vehicle determination unit 3 which determines a blazing vehicle candidate from the travel speed of the vehicle detected by the vehicle detecting and tracking unit; an observation area setting unit 4 which sets an observation area of smoke to the blazing vehicle candidate determined by the abnormal traveling vehicle determination unit 3; and a smoke detection unit 5 which determines the presence or absence of smoke in the observation area set by the observation area setting unit 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
