A floating body for tidal current power generation of the present invention comprises a generation unit including a water wheel and a generator connected to the water wheel; and a body portion provided with a tidal current inlet and outlet having a cross-sectional area that is gradually reduced from the front and rear toward the water wheel. A plurality of floating bodies for tidal current power generation of the present invention are disposed so that a lengthwise direction of the tidal current inlet and outlet coincides with a direction of the tidal current in a terrain such as a narrow strait, and it provides a power generation method in which the power generation is smoothly performed in the manner of adjusting a draft of the floating body for a tidal current power generation depending on the flow velocity of the tidal current, even when the flow velocity of the tidal current becomes slower as it approaches platform tide. |
