[Problem] To propose an image analysis device and program that can easily analyze the orientations of fiber bundles from a 3D image of a CMC. [Solution] An image analysis device that analyzes the orientations of fiber bundles from a 3D image of a fiber-reinforced composite material, said image analysis device being characterized by the provision of the following: an input unit via which a 3D image is inputted; a binarization unit that binarizes the inputted 3D image, yielding a binary image; an orientation estimation unit that estimates the orientation of each foreground pixel in the binary image on the basis of an orientation detection filter that has a parameter that makes the shape of a detection cross-section anisotropic; a center extraction unit that uses the orientation detection filter to extract, from sets of foreground pixels for which orientations were estimated, center pixels that indicate the centers of fiber bundles; a fiber-bundle connection unit that, in the extracted set of center pixels, deems center pixels exhibiting the same orientation or similar orientations to represent the same fiber bundle and connects center pixels representing the same fiber bundle; and a tortuosity determination unit that calculates the tortuosity of each set of center pixels representing the same connected fiber bundle.
