摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal or metal alloy wire exhibiting improved fatigue damage resistance, and a method of production thereof.SOLUTION: A metallic wire selected from the group consisting of Co-Ni-Cr-Mo alloys, SUS316L and Co-Cr-Fe-Ni-Mo alloys is subjected to cold working to impart a prescribed cold working ratio or true strain, and then annealed by heating at prescribed temperature and dwell time, so as to obtain a metallic wire having diameter less than 1.0 mm and a mean grain size less than 500 nm. The wire has fatigue endurance exceeding 0.35% strain amplitude at one million cycles.
