Provided is a sheet folding device comprising a speed reduction means for stopping a sheet by pressing against the same. A pressing member such as rubber is provided as the speed reduction means on the distal end of a rod member that is rotatably held. The speed of the sheet is reduced by having the pressing member press against the sheet at an angle. An effect in which wrinkles are not caused on the paper is brought about because the entire rubber face is not in contact with the paper. Moreover, the pressing member is supported with a see-saw mechanism. The rubber is in uniform contact with the sheet by way of the see-saw mechanism and the folding quality is improved. |
