a development model repository comprising data pertaining to a software development project; and development rules that govern changes in the development model repository; a processor to: determine whether activity pertaining to the software development project violates at least one development rule whose associated severity level exceeds predetermined threshold; and if the activity violates the at least one development rule whose associated severity level exceeds the predetermined threshold, generate a work item that advises a user to correct the activity.
