This electric power conversion device is for obtaining a desired converted voltage by means of charging/discharging of a direct-current capacitor (8), and is equipped with: a reactor (3) that is connected to a rectification circuit (200); a leg part (300), in which diodes (4, 5) and first and second switching components (6a, 7a) are serially connected between positive and negative terminals of a smoothing capacitor (9) and to which the reactor (3) is connected; and the direct-current capacitor (8). A control circuit (10) performs high-frequency PWM control of the first and second switching components (6a, 7a) using an identical drive cycle with reference phases of the switching components being shifted by a half of the cycle from each other and controls the total amount and ratios of respective on-periods of the first and second switching components (6a, 7a) within one cycle. Thus, it is possible to perform both high power factor control of an input alternating-current and voltage control of the direct-current capacitor (8). |
