<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably braze an insertion plate portion of an end plate and an insertion hole of a header tank while preventing insertion failure, by reducing a resistive force upon inserting the insertion plate portion in the process of inserting the insertion plate portion into the insertion hole to be brazed. <P>SOLUTION: A heat exchanger 1 is provided, including a core 2 having tubes 10 where a heat exchange medium flows, and a header tank 3 where an end of the tube 10 is inserted to communicate. An end plate 13 disposed at an outer end of the core 2 is inserted into the header tank 3 and brazed. The end plate 13 includes an insertion plate portion 13b to be inserted into the header tank 3. A slit-shaped insertion hole 20b where the insertion plate portion 13b is to be inserted is formed in a peripheral wall of the header tank 3.
