PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-field light element which hardly causes abrasion, breakage and the like and can perform mutual conversion between propagation light and near-field light stably.SOLUTION: A near-field light element 40 for performing mutual conversion between near-field light S and propagation light L includes a propagation part 50 for propagating propagation light therein and a film body 52 coated with the propagation part. An end surface 50a perpendicular to an optical axis O direction of the propagation light (light beam) and an aperture surface 50b connected to the end surface and adapted to perform the mutual conversion are formed at an end portion in the propagation part, which is opposed to an object, the film body is coated over the whole surface of the end surface, and the aperture surface has a contour line in common with the end surface and is inclined with respect to the optical axis of the propagation light. |
