The method involves pressing and hardening the material plates by the use of pressure and heat. A cross cut is made running over the width of pressed material mat (9) before the continuously operating press (7). The end of the pressed material mat is always delivered to the continuously operating press with the linear edges perpendicular to the travel direction. An independent claim is also included for equipment for implementing the method.
