An apparatus for use in conducting cognitive behaviour therapy comprises a surround vision system, sets of recorded scenes each relating to the same theme and relating to a different level of difficulty for the user, a controller and a command device 12 for controlling the display of scenes. The surround vision system comprises screens 2, 3 which form an enclosed space, a plurality of projectors 7, 8 and a processor 9. There may be a sound system 10, 11 that plays sounds synchronised with the images. There may be an anxiety monitoring device in communication with the controller and may comprise a heart rate monitor, blood pressure sensor, skin temperature sensor and/or eye tracker. The command device 12 may be a handheld remote control and/or a glove and may interact with the screens 2, 3. The controller may override the command device 12 when the anxiety monitoring device exceeds a threshold value. The scene displayed may be recorded. There may be a library of images which may include relaxing images. |
