PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize amplitude of a signal from a magnetic head detecting a servo burst signal, and reduce fault positioning of the magnetic head on a magnetic disk.SOLUTION: A magnetic head or magnetic disk inspection device includes: a spindle motor; a magnetic head positioning mechanism setting a magnetic head at a desired position on the magnetic disk; and a control circuit unit conducting an inspection by writing a servo pattern and data to the magnetic disk, and processing a signal reading the data written to the magnetic disk on the basis of a signal reading the written servo pattern. The control circuit unit applies a dummy signal to the magnetic head to heat the magnetic head before writing the servo pattern to the magnetic disk by the magnetic head set at the desired position on the magnetic disk and writes the servo pattern to the magnetic head by this heated magnetic head.
