<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically update firmware in preliminarily set time zone when a server device is not used, without adding an expensive device, requiring operation of a person, and being limited by the type of an OS being used in the server device.SOLUTION: A firmware update method of an information processor having therein firmware is provided. The information processor includes a controller for controlling a fundamental operation thereof and input/output operations for a management LAN and a BIOS for controlling an initial operation thereof, and the controller includes a virtual medium which functions in cooperation with an update management program in a management terminal which manages the information processor via the management LAN. The update management program in the management terminal downloads an update program for updating the firmware in the information processor, from a distribution server, and the controller activates the update program downloaded to the management terminal, on the virtual medium, and the update program updates the firmware in the information processor.</p> |
