PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal digital assistant with excellent operability capable of excellently performing return to a normal power mode regardless of the brightness of a use environment while preventing the waste of power.SOLUTION: A personal digital assistant (1) having a power saving mode and a normal power mode includes: a proximity sensor (14) for detecting a fact that an object is in a proximity state with the personal digital assistant (1); an acceleration sensor (36) for detecting the direction of the personal digital assistant (1); and a control device (20) for controlling return from the power saving mode to the normal power mode. When the proximity state is detected by the proximity sensor (14) and also the acceleration sensor (36) detects a fact that the personal digital assistant (1) is directed downward to allow the upper part of the assistant to be vertically directed downward, the control device (20) suppresses the return even when a predetermined operation to instruct the return to the normal power mode is performed. |
