PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very reliable bag forming and packaging machine that performs ultrasonic transverse sealing, which even when performing packaging using cylindrical films different in size, can prevent a horn and an anvil for the ultrasonic transverse sealing from coming into direct contact with each other without manufacturing the horn for the ultrasonic transverse sealing in accordance with the sizes of the cylindrical films.SOLUTION: The bag forming and packaging machine comprises a transverse sealing mechanism that performs transverse sealing of cylindrical films to be conveyed downward along a transverse direction crossing a conveyance direction. The transverse sealing mechanism includes a first horn and a first anvil for ultrasonic sealing. The transverse sealing mechanism has as the first anvil a plurality of components 51bn for the anvil having different widths Wa of seal surfaces 512b that sandwich the films between the first horn and the components when performing transverse sealing. The transverse sealing mechanism sandwiches the films between the first horn and the seal surfaces of the components for the first anvil and performs transverse sealing along the width direction of the seal surfaces. |
