Method for enhancing engraftment of haematopoetic stem cells

Disclosed is a composition comprising at least one prostacyclin analogue together with an unspecific cAMP activating agent and stimulated haematopoietic stem cells. Also disclosed is a method for enhancing engraftment of haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) by an ex vivo pretreatment of the HSCs which comprises the following steps: a. using a sample containing haematopoietic stem cells; b. admixing to said sample at least one prostacyclin analogue to obtain a mixture; c. incubating said mixture for a period of time sufficient to stimulate G alpha-s-signalling in said cells. Further disclosed is the use of a composition comprising at least one prostacyclin analogue in the production of a composition for the treatment of individuals suffering from bone marrow disease transplanted with haematopoietic stem cells prepared according to the above method.
