Dyes containing "onium" groups are prepared in the Examples: (1) and (5) phthalocyamines of the formulae <FORM:1055576/C4-C5/1> (2) 2 mols of diazotized 4-amino-benzenesulphonylaminoethyl chloride are coupled with 1 mol of 2,6-bis(acetoacetylamino)-benzthiazole and subsequently reacted with pyridine, (3) 2 mols of diazotized 4-aminobenzene-ethylsulphone - b - trimethylammonium sulphate are coupled with 1 mol 2,6-bis(acetoacetylamino)-benzthiazole, (4) 2 mols diazotized 4-aminobenzenesulphonylaminoethyl - isothiouronium chloride are coupled with 1 mol 1,5-bis(acetoacetylamino)-2,4-dimethoxybenzene. The dye of the formula <FORM:1055576/C4-C5/2> is also specified.ALSO:Dyeings on materials of natural or regenerated cellulose are obtained in a long bath without the addition of salts or levelling agents by dyeing in a dilute weakly acidic aqueous solution at 20-100 DEG C. with a water-soluble dye free from anionic groups and containing a tertiary or quaternary ammonium, pyridinium, ternary sulphonium or isothiouronium group linked to the aromatic dyestuff nucleus through a bridge -A-R-, wherein R is a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic or araliphatic radical which may be interrupted by hetero atoms and A is -SO2- or -SO2-NR'- (R' being H or an alkyl or aralkyl radical), and, if desired, fixing the dyeings with an acid-binding agent, advantageously in an aqueous bath at 40-100 DEG C. The dyes may be from the phthalocyanine, azo or thiazole series. In some cases the fixation may be carried out in the same bath as the dyeing. Examples are given in which a number of dyes are specified. |
