Disclosed is a transmission apparatus. A transmission apparatus according to the present invention comprises: an encoding unit for LDPC encoding input data on the basis of a parity-check matrix; a parity interleaver for interleaving parity bits from among LDPC code words generated by means of the LDPC encoding; and a puncturing unit for puncturing at least a part of the interleaved parity bits, wherein the puncturing unit groups parity bits on the basis of the distance over which a pattern of columns is repeated in an information word partial matrix composing a parity-check matrix, and punctures on the basis of the number of parity bits to be punctured and the location of the parity bit group to be punctured from among the grouped parity bit groups.
