A tissue sample holder (10) includes a plurality of chambers (12) separated from each other by partitions (14). The chambers (12) are configured to receive therein tissue samples (4) at predefined locations. A biopsy holder (1) includes a plurality of biopsy chambers (3). Each of the chambers (12) of the tissue sample holder (10) is configured to receive one of the biopsy chambers (3). A cover (16) has an open position which allows tissue samples (4) to be inserted in the chambers (12) and a closed position in which an underside of the cover (16) closes against the tissue samples (4). The tissue sample holder (10), the cover (16) and the biopsy holder (1) are made of a material that allows imaging of the tissue samples (4) in the closed position.
