The present invention relates to a traffic signal control system. The traffic signal control system includes: a vehicle image detection unit to receive an image signal from photographing equipment installed at an intersection, recognize a vehicle from the image signal, identify whether a turn signal lamp of a front part of the vehicle is turned on or off by using an image recognition technology and transmit information with respect to whether the turn signal lamp is turned on or off; and a central control server to receive the information with respect to whether the turn signal lamp is turned on or off from the vehicle image detection unit to control a traffic lamp installed at the intersection. According to the present invention, by using the image recognition technology, the turn signal lamp of the front part of the vehicle is recognized to control the traffic lamp such that traffic disruptions are prevented and traffic congestion is prevented thus reducing economical loss.
