<p>Provided are a backlight module for a liquid crystal display device and a control method therefor. The backlight module comprises a light-emitting unit (10) and a power source (20) used for providing electric energy for the light-emitting unit (10), wherein the light-emitting unit (10) comprises a plurality of light sources (110) arranged in parallel, a plurality of switches (30) corresponding to the plurality of light sources (110), and a controller (40) used for controlling the switching-on and switching-off of each switch (30). Each light source (110) is electrically connected to the power source (20) via one corresponding switch (30), and the plurality of switches (30) are all electrically connected to the controller (40). When the backlight module is switched on, the controller (40) selectively switches on one of the plurality of switches (30) according to the following steps so as to switch on the light source (110) corresponding to the switched-on switch (30): reading a serial number i of the light source (110) used when the backlight module was switched on last time; checking whether the i+1th light source (110) can operate normally; if the i+1th light source (110) can operate normally, enabling the i+1th light source (110) and adding 1 to the value of the recorded i; if the i+1th light source (110) cannot operate normally, adding 1 to the value of i, and then returning to continue to execute checking until a light source (110) which can operate normally is detected. In this way, the service life of the backlight module can be increased.</p> |
