A dispenser for a paper roll 4 supported on arms 7 at the axis ends in casing 1 and resting on a braking shelf 3 has the paper 4a withdrawn manually between pressure rolls 10a, 10b, loaded by the casing door at 1a acting on spring 11, and feed rolls 9a, 9b, through a slot adjacent a tearing edge 11c. As rolls 9a, 9b turn, a crank 13, Fig. 6, loads a spring and a hook 16a, Fig. 3, cams on lever 17 at 17a to engage timing suction cups 20, 21 to hold the hook between stops 17a, 17b. After the paper is torn, the cups release the lever under spring 19 and the hook from between stops 17a, 17b and the rolls 9a, 9b extrude a further portion of paper as spring 14 relaxes and moves crank 13 back to its initial position. The paper may be dispensed by a manual pawl 26 mounted on sprung levers 29a, 29b rotatable on the axis of rolls 9a, 9b on either side of roll 9b, which engages ratchet fashion on the knurled edge of roll 9b. A coiled clutch spring on the shaft of rolls 9a, 9b prevents reverse movement. |
