A magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) cell having a protective film comprises: a free layer having a magnetization direction which is adjusted based on an applied voltage; a fixation layer having a reference magnetization direction about the adjusted magnetization direction of the free layer; an insulation layer arranged between the free layer and the fixation layer and formed by an insulator; a protective film formed to surround a side of the insulation layer; and an inter-level dielectric (ILD) formed to surround a side of the free layer, a side of the fixation layer, and the protective film formed on the side of the insulation layer.
