<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize unnecessary space and prevent a physical frame from uselessly enlarging in the axial direction of a shaft in a rotary electric machine. <P>SOLUTION: A part of a third field coil 45 is disposed at the radial inner side relative to a coil end 22e on one end side. A second field coil 44 is disposed at the axial outer side of a shaft 15 relative to the coil end 22e on the one end side. A part of a sixth field coil 55 is disposed at the radial inner side relative to the coil end 22e on the other end side.
